About the Presenters

Dr. Vergil Metts, President and CEO of Impact Associates, Inc., is among the first people in the United States certified in Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT™).  He has been enhancing the emotional competence in Leadership Teams in the United States and Mexico for the past 7 years.  Dr. Metts specializes in organizational culture assessment, transition management, leadership development, teambuilding, and emotional intelligence.  He has logged over 20 years of experience as both an internal resource and external consultant for a variety of public and private-sector organizations, including Avenor, British Petroleum, Bush Brothers and Company, Exxon, Nortel, the Petroleum Authority of Thailand, Tennessee Valley Authority, Thomas & Betts, and the US Department of Defense.

Dr. John Hoover, a Senior Consultant with Impact Associates and a licensed psychologist, works with executives and business owners to enhance emotional competence and to reach their leadership potential. He has created and conducted workshops, trainings, and retreats in a wide variety of industrial, business, and organizational settings throughout the United States.  Dr. Hoover has over 30 years of experience in mentoring and coaching clients in resolving difficult issues, enhancing communication and creating common understanding within a business or family group.
